Electric telehandlers combine the load capacity and reach of conventional telehandlers with a quiet drive that produces no local emissions. Luibl Rental rents models such as the Manitou MT 625e as well as Twin-Energy machines from Magni, which operate electrically or on diesel depending on the job. With our own low-loaders, we deliver from Passau throughout the Czech Republic directly to the construction site.

Lithium-ion drive compared with the diesel engine

Switching to electric drive in telehandlers affects not only the motor but the entire drive and hydraulic architecture. Battery management and the charging cycles of the lithium-ion systems used are decisive for operation. Unlike lead-acid batteries, modern lithium-ion batteries allow:

  • intermediate charging during work breaks without memory effect
  • constant power output with full torque regardless of the state of charge
  • lower maintenance, as no topping up of battery water is required

Another technical difference lies in the hydraulics: while with diesel engines the hydraulic pump often runs even at idle, an electric telehandler only consumes energy when it is actually driving, lifting or slewing. This increases the net operating time per charge and lowers operating costs.

Battery capacity, charging time and charging connections

For planning a job, the specific battery and charging data are decisive. Depending on the model and application, battery capacity, charging time, available charging connections and charging power differ. Luibl Rental advises on the right configuration for single- and multi-shift operation and agrees the on-site charging infrastructure with you. Twin-Energy models, such as those in the Magni RTH range, also have an auxiliary diesel drive. This allows switching between electric and diesel operation depending on the location - for example electric in the hall and diesel for longer journeys on the outdoor site, without needing a second machine.

Main applications for electric telehandlers

Electric telehandlers are now specifically required in many tenders. Luibl Rental serves three areas in particular:

Main applications: where electric solutions have no alternative

The use of electric telehandlers is now mandatory in many tenders. Luibl Rental serves three core areas in particular:

Indoor logistics and factory halls

In enclosed halls, for example in the food industry or the pharmaceutical sector, exhaust fumes are an exclusion criterion. An electric telehandler enables racking installation and maintenance work on ceiling structures without affecting air quality in the hall. Quiet operation also reduces noise exposure for other staff in the hall.

Tunnel construction and underground car park refurbishment

In areas with limited ventilation, electric machines save companies investment and operating costs for large extraction systems. The compact design of many electric models also makes work under height restrictions easier.

Night-time sites and urban areas

Local noise protection rules in cities often restrict the use of noisy machines in the evening and at night. Electric telehandlers from Luibl Rental operate quietly, making it easier to comply with local noise limits on multi-shift jobs.

Selection criteria for the right model

Electric telehandlers are particularly suited to halls, tunnels, inner-city construction sites and other emission- or noise-sensitive applications. The key factors for choosing the right model are load capacity, lift height, reach, machine dimensions, battery capacity, charging connection and planned duration of use. Luibl Rental supports the technical machine selection and organises delivery from Passau throughout the Czech Republic.

Performance data and roto functionality

Electric telehandlers today reach load capacities of 5 tonnes and more and, with booms up to 26 metres lift height, cover a large share of industrial assembly work. Integrating 360-degree rotation in electric machines requires lossless energy transfer through the slewing ring. For this, Luibl Rental relies on slip ring technology in the Magni roto models it offers.

Cost efficiency in rental operation

Renting an electric telehandler offers several economic advantages:

  • electricity costs per operating hour are often below the fuel costs of a comparable diesel machine
  • lower maintenance: no engine oil filter changes, no AdBlue exhaust aftertreatment
  • using machines with no local emissions supports sustainability evidence, for example in public procurement

Safety and certification

Electric telehandlers from Luibl Rental have the same safety systems as their diesel counterparts, supplemented by battery-specific monitoring:

  • digital load moment indicator (LMI) with real-time stability monitoring
  • integrated diagnostics that detect voltage drops or thermal anomalies in the battery pack and trigger protective measures
  • inspection of all electrical components in line with applicable Czech safety rules and CSN EN standards

FAQ Electric telehandler rental

chevronDown

How long does an electric telehandler run on one battery charge?

Operating time per charge depends on battery capacity, type of use and load profile. Because electric telehandlers only consume energy when actually moving, the net operating time is often longer than with diesel machines that idle. Luibl Rental advises you on the right model for your specific shift pattern.

What is a Twin-Energy telehandler?

Twin-Energy models have an electric and an additional diesel drive in one machine. They can be switched depending on the site, for example electric in the hall and diesel for longer outdoor jobs.

What requirements apply for use in halls?

For use in halls, machine dimensions, turning circle and ground clearance are particularly relevant. Luibl Rental will check with you which model suits the spatial conditions of your hall.

How is the delivery of electric telehandlers organised?

Luibl Rental delivers with its own low-loader fleet from Passau throughout the Czech Republic directly to the construction site. Delivery to other European countries is possible on request.
