Merlo telehandler rental - precision and performance for your project
Merlo launched the modern telehandler in 1987 as the first series-production machine of its kind. This head start can be felt in every current machine: in the Panoramic cab, in the hydrostatic drive and in the patented side shift of the boom. Luibl provides Merlo rental machines with a valid inspection under Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll. and a personal briefing on handover - fixed models, roto machines and heavy-duty classes, delivered from Passau throughout the Czech Republic.
Why Merlo? The advantages of the Italian market leader
Merlo telehandlers differ fundamentally from competitor machines in three respects:
Panoramic cab with side-mounted engine: The engine is mounted at the side, not under the cab. This completely removes the engine hump from the operator's field of view. The 360-degree all-round view from the cab allows precise work with attachments even without a banksman - a direct safety gain on confined sites.
Patented side shift of the boom: On certain Merlo models the boom can be shifted sideways without moving the machine. This means: loads can be set down with a lateral offset - precisely, without manoeuvring, without losing time. On a facade project in Munich, a Merlo Roto made it possible, thanks to this combination of continuous rotation and lateral boom offset, to place glass elements with pinpoint accuracy without moving the machine a single time.
Inching pedal and hydrostatic drive: The inching pedal decouples travel and working hydraulics - the operator can move the machine into position with millimetre precision while the boom is under full pressure. The hydrostatic drive converts every pedal movement smoothly into travel. The result: no load swing, no loss of control when moving into tight installation positions.
Levelling: Merlo machines actively compensate for uneven ground and automatically keep the machine level. This extends the range of use to ungraded sites, green areas and slopes without extra effort during set-up.

Fixed Merlo telehandlers - compact powerhouses
Fixed models of the TF and P series are the standard solution for construction logistics, hall assembly and agricultural operations. Compact dimensions, all-wheel steering with up to four steering modes and low ground pressure make them equally suitable for paved and unpaved surfaces.
Typical applications:
-
Pallet transport in production halls with narrow passages
-
Material supply on shell construction sites
-
Hay and silage work on farms
-
Feeding conveyor systems in earthworks
Technical range of the fixed series:
-
Load capacity: 2.5 t to 7 t
-
Lift height: up to 18 m
-
Drive: diesel, optionally with continuously variable transmission
All-wheel steering switches between front-wheel steering, crab steering and four-wheel steering - for maximum manoeuvrability even in the tightest spaces.
Merlo Roto - maximum flexibility through 360-degree rotation
Roto models of the Merlo series combine telehandler, crane and aerial work platform in one machine. Continuous rotation turns the superstructure 360 degrees without an end stop while the machine remains stationary. This makes it possible to serve work areas on both sides of the machine and behind it - without repositioning, without waiting.
Specific advantages over the fixed model:
-
In steel construction: beams are taken from the transport rack, turned and lifted to installation height on the opposite side - one machine position for the entire process.
-
In building construction: precast concrete parts, facade elements and roof tiles are lifted regardless of position, without the truck unloading area and the installation area having to coincide.
Key technical data of the roto rental class:
-
Load capacity: 4 t to 10 t
-
Lift height: up to 30 m
-
360-degree continuous rotation with load moment limiter (LMI)
-
Outrigger configuration: four independent outriggers for level load pick-up even on slopes
The load moment limiter continuously monitors the relationship between outreach, lift height and load. If the combination moves outside the permitted range of the load chart, the system actively stops - no overload situation, full machine safety without operator intervention.
Attachments for roto models at Luibl: work basket (approved for carrying people), winch, load hook, fork tines, earth bucket. The attachment is combined with the machine directly in the rental quote.
Heavy-duty telehandlers - when every kilo counts
For loads beyond the standard class, Luibl provides Merlo models of the P 72 class. The Merlo P 72.10 carries 7,200 kg at 10 m lift height - designed for use in precast construction, the installation of steel beams or heavy engineering.
Applications of the heavy-duty class:
-
Installation of precast concrete parts in industrial and bridge construction
-
Transport and positioning of machine components in workshops
-
Material supply on large construction sites with high individual load weights
The hydrostatic drive is fully retained in the heavy-duty class too - precision when moving into tight positions is guaranteed regardless of the load class.
How much does it cost to rent a Merlo telehandler?
The rental price is made up of four components:
-
Machine rental rate: Depends on the model (fixed, roto, heavy-duty), working height and load class.
-
Rental period: Daily, weekly and monthly rates. For long-term rentals of several weeks or more, periodic inspection under Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll. and maintenance are already included in the rental agreement - no separate organisational effort.
-
Transport costs: Calculated according to delivery location and machine size. Luibl uses its own low-loader fleet - no third-party provider, no scheduling uncertainty.
-
Attachment: Work basket, winch or bucket are combined with the machine on request and calculated separately.
Fixed list prices are not published, as project size, delivery location and rental period determine the calculation individually. Combined offers for large sites with several machines are available on request.
Which driving licence do you need for a Merlo telehandler?
The following applies to operating a Merlo telehandler on public roads:
-
Agricultural and forestry use: the required Czech driving licence category - relevant for agricultural use on farm premises and field tracks.
-
Road transport: For journeys between job sites, the required Czech driving licence category, depending on total weight and configuration.
Regardless of the driving licence, the following applies in line with applicable Czech safety rules: the operator's employer must ensure documented operator training and the required operator qualification for the telehandler. Luibl provides a personal operator briefing by specialist staff at every machine handover - documented and in line with standards.
For roto models with a work basket, the rules for work at height (Government Regulation No. 362/2005 Coll.) must also be observed. Luibl provides an operator briefing on handover specific to the machine type.
Attachments for maximum versatility
Merlo rental machines from Luibl can be combined with the following accessories:
-
Fork tines: standard for pallet and material transport
-
Earth bucket: for earthmoving, bulk material and levelling work
-
Load hook: as a crane substitute for single loads
-
Winch: for lifting without a direct load pick-up point
-
Work basket: approved for carrying people, available for roto models from 20 m lift height
All attachments are matched to the respective Merlo model class. The load moment limiter automatically adapts the permitted load chart to the attachment in use - on roto models with RFID recognition this happens without manual input.
