Diesel scissor lift rental from Luibl Rental
Diesel scissor lift rental - rough-terrain scissor lifts from 10 m to 34 m for your large project
Anyone who has to work at height with heavy loads on unpaved outdoor terrain cannot do without a diesel scissor lift. Electric machines are ruled out on topsoil, gravel or sloping open ground - not because of the lift height, but because of drive, ground clearance and load reserves under real load conditions. The Luibl rental fleet comprises 27 diesel scissor lifts from renowned manufacturers such as Holland Lift, JLG, Magni, Genie and HAB - with working heights from 10 m to 34 m and load capacities up to 1,000 kg. All machines are inspected before handover in line with applicable Czech safety rules and CSN EN standards (CSN EN 280) and delivered in technically perfect condition.
The Luibl rental fleet in three performance classes: compact, large and high-reach scissor lifts
Not every diesel scissor lift is suitable for every job. The decisive selection parameters are working height, platform payload, platform length when extended and the off-road capability of the chassis. Luibl divides its diesel portfolio into three performance classes so that you can assess before your enquiry which machine category your project requires.
Compact class: 10 m to 14 m working height for confined outdoor areas
Compact diesel scissor lifts are the right choice when access routes are narrow, the ground is uneven and double-digit working heights are still required. The models in this class have a narrow width that allows passage through standard site gates, and an extension deck that enlarges the usable platform area without lifting. Typical applications are facade work on existing buildings with limited forecourt space, installation work on factory premises with uneven gravel beds, or assembly work on sites where no crane is available.
Machine class at a glance:
-
Working height: 10 m to 14 m
-
Drive: diesel / four-wheel drive
-
Gradeability: up to 45 %
-
Platform design: extension deck for additional material storage
Large scissor lifts with extended deck: 15 m to 22 m
From around 15 m working height, the focus shifts to platform capacity. In hall and facade construction these machines are used when several people work on the platform at the same time and materials such as sandwich panels, ventilation ducts or steel profiles are to be processed directly from the deck. The platforms in this class can be extended to over 6 m, with load capacities of up to 750 kg - enough for two people with heavy tools and semi-finished materials.
A proven machine in this segment is the JLG Liftlux 203-24: 22.5 m working height, 750 kg load capacity, 10 sq m platform area, 11,400 kg dead weight. The same applies to the HAB S225-24 D4WDS with 22.5 m working height and four-wheel drive. Both models are fitted with white, non-marking solid rubber tyres - a key criterion for use in freshly coated factory halls, where conventional rough-terrain tyres would leave tracks.
The JLG Liftlux 260-25, with 28 m working height, covers the upper limit of this class. Four-wheel steering combined with four-wheel drive ensures precise travel even on uneven ground; proportional control of all drive and lift functions allows positioning under load with millimetre precision. When stowed, the machine travels at 3.6 km/h; when raised, travel speed is limited to 0.3 km/h.

High-reach and large scissor lifts: 23 m to 34 m for industrial plant construction
The top performance range of the Luibl rental fleet covers projects for which no other type of aerial work platform is sufficient: facade installation on multi-storey industrial and logistics buildings, steel erection in plant construction, roof work on halls with ridge heights above 20 m. Luibl is one of the few rental companies that keep several 34 m diesel scissor lifts in their own fleet.
The flagship of this class is the Holland Lift HL 340D30 4WDS: 34 m working height, 1,000 kg load capacity, 3 m platform width, dead weight approx. 32 tonnes. The platform can be extended to up to 9.66 m - a value rarely reached by comparable competitor products. All drive and lift functions are controlled proportionally. An electronic tilt sensor automatically shuts off the lift function as soon as the permissible ground inclination is exceeded. A differential lock and a switchable high-speed gear complete the chassis.
Also in the fleet: the Magni DS3225RT with 32 m working height and the Holland Lift Megastar G320, the predecessor of the HL 340D30 with identical working height.
Important planning note: Machines in the 34 m class are 3 m wide and have a transport weight of just under 32 tonnes. This requires an oversize transport. Allow a lead time of approx. 2-3 weeks for permits and transport organisation. Luibl coordinates the oversize transport with its own low-loader fleet.

Technical equipment for demanding terrain: four-wheel drive, oscillating axle and differential lock
On paper, 'rough-terrain' sounds like a simple feature. In operation, the combination of several chassis properties determines whether a diesel scissor lift can actually be set up safely on a real construction site.
Four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering are the basic requirement. Four-wheel drive transmits drive power evenly to all axles - essential on soft ground where a single axle would spin. Four-wheel steering allows obstacles to be bypassed in the tightest spaces, which is often underestimated with long-platform machines outdoors.
Oscillating axle: On uneven surfaces, the oscillating axle ensures that all four wheels maintain permanent ground contact - even when the ground varies between the axles. Without this feature, a wheel would lift on uneven ground, leading to lateral instability that the electronic tilt sensor detects but does not prevent. The oscillating axle is fitted as standard on most machines from the 20 m class upwards.
Differential lock: When a drive wheel loses traction on slippery or soft ground, the differential lock prevents one-sided spinning and redirects torque to the wheel with better grip. In facade construction on topsoil - especially after rain - this feature makes the decisive difference between a working machine and one that is stuck.
Solid rubber tyres vs. rough-terrain tyres: Rough-terrain models with foam-filled or solid rubber tyres have a decisive advantage in factory halls and on freshly coated industrial floors: they leave no tracks. For projects in which the machine switches between outdoor and indoor use, this is an important selection criterion. The HAB S225-24 D4WDS is available in the Luibl fleet with such non-marking solid rubber tyres.
Logistics and safety standards for Luibl machine rental
All diesel scissor lifts from the Luibl rental fleet are technically inspected before delivery. Periodic inspection is governed by Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll. together with occupational safety rules and CSN EN 280 - the European standard for mobile elevating work platforms. It requires regular inspections by competent persons, defines the minimum design requirements (stability against overturning, load charts, wind load limits) and sets out the documentation obligations for the operator.
For long-term rentals, Luibl offers package deals that include periodic inspection under Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll. and annual maintenance - particularly useful for projects lasting several months, as the inspection obligation applies regardless of whether the machine is bought or rented.
Transport is carried out with our own low-loader fleet. For standard machines up to 28 m working height, no special permit is usually required. For the 34 m class (width 3 m, weight approx. 32 t), an oversize transport is necessary - Luibl coordinates the permit and vehicle provision. Machines are delivered by low-loader from Passau throughout the Czech Republic and to the other Luibl markets: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, Hungary, Luxembourg.
In the event of technical faults during the rental period, you can request a service technician via the form on luibl.eu. The technician is sent directly to the job site to minimise downtime.
Checklist for site managers before ordering a machine:
-
Check the ground bearing capacity at the set-up area (guide value: point load depending on machine class up to 30 t on a footprint of approx. 3 m x 4 m)
-
Clarify access width and clearance height for the low-loader and the machine
-
Measure the ground inclination (max. permissible according to the manufacturer's specification; for 34 m models typically <= 3 degrees in operation)
-
Request the report of the last periodic inspection under Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll. for submission to the authorities
-
For 34 m models: allow 2-3 weeks lead time for the oversize transport permit
