Choose the design that suits your site - we deliver it directly with our own low-loaders from Passau.
What types of Manitou forklifts are there?
Manitou divides its telehandler portfolio into four clearly defined designs. Which variant is suitable depends on three factors: load capacity, required reach and operating environment.
-
Fixed telehandlers (MT series) - The boom is rigidly connected to the chassis and loads are picked up at the front. High stability even without stabilisers, linear power delivery when travelling forward with a load. MT models cover lift heights from 4 to 18 metres and load capacities between 2 and 4 tonnes. The classic choice for construction, logistics and building construction with changing pick-up points. -> Manitou fixed telehandlers
-
Roto telehandlers (MRT series) - The superstructure rotates continuously through 360 degrees on the undercarriage. Loads are positioned precisely without moving the chassis. This saves time, protects the ground and reduces travel in the danger zone. MRT Vision Plus with RFID attachment recognition, lift heights up to 35 metres, load capacities up to 7 tonnes. -> Manitou roto telehandlers
-
Heavy-duty telehandlers (MHT series) - Mining and Heavy Telehandler, designed for loads from 10 tonnes. Reinforced lifting structures, hydrostatic four-wheel drive, three steering modes, able to travel under full load. Models such as the MHT 10120 (12 t), MHT 10200 (20 t) and MHT 11250 (25 t) are the choice for steel construction, port handling, mining and bridge building. -> View the Manitou MHT 11250
-
Electric telehandlers - Lithium-ion battery, zero local emissions, quiet operation. Models such as the MT 625e bring the performance of the diesel variant into halls, food and pharmaceutical facilities, hospitals and inner-city sites with noise and emission restrictions. -> Electric telehandlers
Manitou telescopic wheel loaders (MLA range) and agricultural MLT models complement the portfolio in agricultural machinery - available through Luibl on request.

What are Manitou telehandlers used for?
Four sectors dominate rental demand. The right model depends on load capacity, lift height and terrain requirements - the following assignments are the most common practical scenarios.
-
Building and structural construction - Supplying floors with bricks, mortar silos, steel beams and precast elements. Standard machines: MT 1440 (14 m) and MT 1840 (18 m) for buildings up to six storeys, MRT 2150 (21 m) for high-rise projects with rotating load positioning.
-
Industrial installation - Plant construction, facade installation, steel hall construction, power plant projects. With a personnel basket, the MRT series becomes a heavy-duty aerial work platform - this requires appropriate operator qualification in line with applicable Czech safety rules. RFID attachment recognition automatically adjusts the load chart when tools are changed.
-
Mining, steel construction and heavy industry - Handling coils, steel plates and machine assemblies beyond the 10-tonne mark. The MHT series is the market leader in the heavy-duty telehandler segment. In many cases, the MHT 10200 (20 t) and MHT 11250 (25 t) replace space-consuming heavy cranes with outriggers.
-
Agriculture and recycling - Agricultural MLT models (with Stage V engine and greater reach than the standard MT) for farm operations, silage, and manure and straw logistics. Available through Luibl on request - please contact our dispatch team directly.
Attachments for Manitou telehandlers
The real strength of a Manitou telehandler lies in its combination with the right attachment. The quick-change system (E-Reco) automatically recognises the connected tool and loads the matching load chart - a safety advantage especially for MRT models with frequent tool changes during operation.
-
Pallet forks and load forks - Classic pallet transport in building construction and logistics. Optionally with side shift and fork positioner.
-
Load hooks and cable winches - Turn the telehandler into a mobile crane. The PT lattice jib with winch is ideal for lifting loads over obstacles or roof overhangs.
-
Personnel baskets - Up to 1,000 kg basket capacity, usable as a heavy-duty aerial work platform. Prerequisites: fall protection equipment, basket briefing and, for MRT, the required operator qualification.
-
Buckets - Bulk material handling for gardening and landscaping, earthworks and recycling yards.
-
Vacuum lifters - Combined with MRT models, the first choice for modern glass and facade construction.
-
Cylinder and pipe clamps, tyre handlers, positioners - Special attachments for industrial installation, port handling and tyre service.
What qualifications do you need for a Manitou telehandler?
The operation of telehandlers is subject to clearly defined requirements of occupational safety rules (Act No. 309/2006 Coll.), Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll. and the EU Machinery Directive. Knowing these requirements well helps you avoid fines, loss of insurance cover and, above all, accidents.
-
Operator qualification - Operators of fixed telehandlers (MT series) need the required operator qualification in line with applicable Czech safety rules. For rotating MRT models we recommend training directly on a roto machine - experience with a fixed telehandler does not replace it. When the basket is used as an aerial work platform, the requirements for work at height apply as well (Government Regulation No. 362/2005 Coll.).
-
Fall protection in the basket - When working with a personnel basket, personal fall protection equipment is used (work at height under Government Regulation No. 362/2005 Coll.). It absorbs the whiplash effect of an unexpected basket swing - without it, a sudden boom movement can throw a person out of the basket.
-
FEM 4.004 - periodic inspection - All Manitou rental machines at Luibl are inspected regularly in line with FEM 4.004 and Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll. (hydraulics, safety systems, stability, load moment limiter). The inspection is valid on delivery; for long-term rentals, Luibl carries out follow-up inspections at no extra charge.
-
Stage V engines - Current MT, MRT and MHT models are equipped with Stage V diesel engines in accordance with EU Regulation 2016/1628 - a prerequisite for use in emission-monitored industrial zones and urban low-emission zones.
-
Machine-specific briefing - In addition to the basic qualification, every operator should be briefed on the specific rental machine - load chart, JSM joystick functions, emergency lowering, stabiliser operation. Luibl offers this briefing with every machine delivery.
Operator briefing on handover is part of every delivery - on your site if required.
In the Czech Republic, operator qualification and machine operation are governed by applicable Czech safety rules and CSN EN standards; please check in advance whether foreign operator certificates are recognised.
How much does it cost to rent a Manitou telehandler?
The daily rate depends on design, lift height, load capacity and rental period. Three cost factors are key:
-
Design and model class - Compact fixed MT models (MT 625, MT 930) have the lowest daily rate. Standard building construction models (MT 1440, MT 1840) are in the mid-range. Roto telehandlers (MRT 2150 to MRT 3570) are significantly more expensive due to their greater complexity and lift height. Heavy-duty MHT models form the top price segment, often with an individual project price.
-
Rental period - Daily rental (1-3 days) has the highest daily rate. Weekly rental reduces it noticeably. Long-term rental from three months includes periodic inspection in line with Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll., maintenance and in some cases a refuelling service, bringing the daily rate down to industrial level.
-
Delivery and attachments - Transport by low-loader from Passau. Attachments (load hook, personnel basket, cable winch, vacuum lifter) are charged separately as a flat fee.
