Aerial work platform and construction machinery rental in Plzen

Aerial work platform and construction machinery rental in Plzen

From Bavaria, Plzen is the most accessible Czech industrial location: around 200 km via Waidhaus and the D5, with no detour. That changes the calculation for rental projects - a short approach means lower transport costs and more leeway when dates shift. This page shows which machines are suitable for industrial and construction projects in Plzen and what to watch out for when scheduling.

Automotive suppliers and production halls

The industrial zones along the D5 are characterised by supplier manufacturing and electrical engineering. Work takes place inside the hall, often while production is running, and that determines the choice of machine more than the working height.

Electric scissor lifts are standard here: 6.30 to 33.00 m working height, platform capacities from 227 to 1,000 kg, no local emissions and gentle on floors. For maintenance on production lines and utility lines, 8 to 12 m with a large platform area is usually sufficient; for crane runways, hall lighting and ventilation systems under the roof, models from 18 m are the right class.

Two dimensions determine whether a machine can be used and are regularly overlooked: the stowed height - it determines whether the machine fits through the sectional door at all - and the permissible floor load of the hall. With underfloor heating, screed on insulation or areas above basements, the latter is the real exclusion criterion.

Plant shutdown: scheduling is decisive

Supplier plants work with fixed shutdown windows, usually around company holidays or public holidays. In these windows, maintenance, conversion and modernisation all take place at the same time - and the machine demand of the entire region falls on the same days.

This leads to a practical rule: enquire as soon as the shutdown date is fixed, not when work preparation begins. By arrangement, we reserve machines for fixed time windows. Those who enquire only shortly beforehand are more likely to get a working alternative than the machine they wanted.

Also plan the rental period with a buffer: shutdowns are extended more often than they are shortened, and an extension is cheaper than a second delivery.

Building construction, renovation and outdoor areas

Outside the halls, different conditions apply. For facades, roofs and work points behind obstacles, articulating boom lifts with 10.89 to 48.15 m provide the necessary up-and-over reach. On unpaved ground in new development areas, diesel scissor lifts with all-wheel drive are the more robust choice - 9.70 to 34.00 m with up to 1,134 kg platform capacity.

In Plzen city centre and on existing buildings with no access to the facade, spider lifts are used: 13.00 to 39.50 m with the lowest ground pressure and narrowest transport width in the range.

Spider lifts13.00 - 39.50 m200 - 400 kg

For interior fit-out, shopfitting and maintenance in occupied buildings, mast lifts are the lightest class - one person can move them and they fit through standard doors. The greatest working height is reached by telescopic boom lifts with 56.90 m.

Telehandlers and excavators for the Plzen region

Telehandlers take over material distribution where there is no crane. Fixed models lift 4.30 to 18.80 m with a load capacity of 1.25 to 25 t - the 25 t class is in demand in plant construction and for heavy precast elements. Roto telehandlers reach 15.42 to 38.90 m and work all around from a single set-up, which replaces repositioning on cramped factory yards. For transport inside buildings, electric telehandlers with 5.85 to 30.00 m are available.

Excavators from 1.8 t to 30 t for site servicing, foundations, utility construction and interior demolition. Plus forklifts from 3 to 16 t and stackers with 2.70 to 5.50 m lift height for warehousing and handling.

Transport to Plzen: short route via the D5

From our base in Passau it is around 200 km to Plzen, most of it on motorway - via the Waidhaus border crossing, the D5 leads directly into the metropolitan area. This makes Plzen the most cost-effectively accessible major Czech location in our delivery area.

We organise transport with our own low-loaders and partner hauliers and coordinate the delivery date with your construction schedule. For requirements of several months, we invoice at long-term rental rates. Combinations of platform and telehandler are priced as a package - one transport, one contact person, one invoice.

Inspection, documentation and operator obligations in the Czech Republic

Every machine is delivered with a valid inspection record, CE documentation and operating manual. We keep track of inspection deadlines and maintenance history for the entire rental fleet.

Operator obligations on site are governed by the law of the country of use, not that of the hirer. For the Czech Republic, Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll. is decisive; it contains a separate annex for equipment for lifting loads and persons. The inspection of mobile elevating work platforms follows CSN EN 280.

Supplier plants often add their own site rules - access permits, safety briefings, sometimes requirements on the type of drive. Clarify these conditions before delivery.

We supply the documents for your records - risk assessment and operator instruction remain your responsibility. The visual and functional check before starting work is the operator's duty regardless of whether the machine is rented or owned.
