Aerial work platform and construction machinery rental in Prague
Anyone renting aerial work platforms in Prague is working in two very different cities. In the Old Town, the width of the courtyard entrance decides which machine can reach the working point at all. In Karlin, Holesovice and the logistics parks on the outskirts, working height and platform area are what matter. This page matches the rental fleet to Prague job situations - with the figures that count for selection.
Which aerial work platform suits which Prague site?
Old Town, Mala Strana, Vinohrady: access before height
In the historic centre, the limiting factor is almost never the working height but the route to it. Courtyard passages with less than 1 m clear width, cobblestones, vaulted cellars under the inner courtyard and ground bearing capacity that rules out a heavy chassis.
Spider lifts are the standard answer here: tracked undercarriage, low ground pressure, narrow transport width, working heights of 13.00 to 39.50 m with 200 to 400 kg platform load. For interior work in occupied buildings - stairwells, shops, hotel lobbies - mast lifts with 10.00 to 12.65 m are the lightest class and fit through standard doors.
Karlin, Holesovice, Smichov: height and platform area in new builds
In the new districts, work takes place on finished floors inside the building: drywall, electrical, ventilation, sprinklers. This is what electric scissor lifts are made for - no local emissions, gentle on floors, with the largest platform area of all classes. The rental fleet covers 6.30 to 33.00 m, with platform loads of 227 to 1,000 kg.
The rule of thumb for selection: calculate platform load for people plus material, not people alone. Two fitters with tools and material quickly exceed 300 kg - which rules out the small 227 kg models even though the working height would fit.
Industry, logistics and data centres on the outskirts
High-rack maintenance, crane runways, hall lighting, fire protection systems. Here, reach over obstacles and stability on unpaved ground are what count.
- Diesel scissor lifts with all-wheel drive: 9.70 to 34.00 m, up to 1,134 kg platform load - the strongest class in the range
- High-rack scissor lifts: 18.50 to 33.00 m with a narrow track for rack aisles
- Articulating boom lifts: 10.89 to 48.15 m, articulated arm for working points behind obstacles
- Telescopic boom lifts: 14.00 to 56.90 m - the greatest working height in the rental fleet, for silos, chimneys and hall roofs

Construction machinery for Prague projects
In Prague, telehandlers mostly handle material distribution where there is no crane. Fixed models lift 4.30 to 18.80 m at 1.25 to 25 t. Roto telehandlers with a rotating superstructure reach 15.42 to 38.90 m and work all round from a single set-up - the decisive advantage in tight courtyards where repositioning is not possible. Electric telehandlers with 5.85 to 30.00 m for work inside buildings.
Excavators for utility trenches, foundations and interior demolition: from 1.8 t mini excavators to 30 t crawler excavators. The 1.8-tonne machine fits through courtyard entrances and onto construction hoists; the 14- to 30-tonne machines are intended for civil engineering and demolition on the outskirts.
For handling in halls and warehouses: forklifts from 3 to 16 t and pedestrian stackers with 2.70 to 5.50 m lift height.
Transport to Prague and the Central Bohemian Region
Prague is around 300 km from our base in Passau - via the D5 from the Waidhaus border crossing, it is a continuous motorway connection. We organise transport with our own low-loaders and partner hauliers and coordinate the delivery date with your construction schedule.
Besides Prague, the delivery area covers the entire Central Bohemian Region. The same scheduling applies to projects in Kladno and Mlada Boleslav.
For requirements of several months, we bill at long-term rental rates - considerably cheaper than daily rental. We price combinations of platform and telehandler as a package, which means one transport and one invoice instead of two.
Inspection, documentation and operator obligations
Every machine is delivered with a valid inspection record, CE documentation and operating manual. We keep track of inspection deadlines and maintenance history for the entire rental fleet.
Important for use in the Czech Republic: operator obligations at the place of use are governed by the law of the country of use, not that of the hirer. For the Czech Republic, this includes Government Regulation No. 378/2001 Coll. on detailed requirements for the safe operation and use of machinery and technical equipment; the inspection of mobile elevating work platforms follows CSN EN 280. We supply the documents you need as evidence - risk assessment and operator instruction on site remain your responsibility.
The visual and functional check before each start of work is the operator's obligation, regardless of whether the machine is rented or owned.
